Houston, Texas has so much to offer- including amazing local restaurants! In this post, I'll share three of my favorite spots with you.
Best Brunch: Weights + Measures
Weights + Measures is hands-down my favorite restaurant in Houston. Every time I'm in the city, it's a must-visit. This local spot is a restaurant, bar, and bakery all in one! It's the cutest place for brunch and almost never has a wait of over 15 minutes.
Menu items I recommend trying are:
- Roasted Pork Papusa (with salsa and pickled cabbage slaw)
- Brioche French Toast + Fried Chicken
- Chicken BLT (with avocado and jalapeno aioli on fresh ciabatta)
- Meat Lovers Pizza (topped with pepperoni, sausage, purple onion, basil, and mozzarella)
Best Late-Night: The Burger Joint
The Burger Joint features- you guessed it- burgers and fries! This all-American classic has three locations in Montrose, Baybrook, and Houston Heights. The Montrose location is open until midnight Sunday through Thursday and until 4 AM Fridays and Saturdays. It's the perfect place to stop after a concert or night out.
Menu items I recommend trying are:
- BBQ Burger (topped with lettuce, tomato, caramelized onions, bacon, onion rings, cheddar, and BBQ sauce)
- Classic Burger (topped with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and mayo- sub mayo for garlic aioli and onions for caramelized onions)
- Onion Rings
- Queso Fries
- Mac and Cheese
Best Fried Pickles: FM Kitchen & Bar
FM Kitchen & Bar is a relaxed gastropub with a dog-friendly patio area. This is a great place to stop for a filling lunch or brunch in the city! They offer a diverse menu and cocktail list.
Menu items I recommend trying are:
- Fried Pickles
- The Cooper Burger (topped with queso, tomato, and shhh sauce on brioche)
- FM Club Sandwich (roasted chicken, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and pesto aioli on Texas toast)
- FM Taco (bacon, egg, tater tots, cheese, and refried beans)
